About our school..
|
|
Ashton St Peter's is a voluntary aided church school. It has always had links with the Priory Church of St Peter and is supported by the Diocese of St Albans.
The Ashton School Foundation owns the buildings and with the church plays a significant part in the life of the school. Both provide representatives for the Governing body. As a church school, clergy may conduct worship and take religious instruction, all in accordance with the doctrines of the Church of England.
The school as a body, attends the church. The original beneficence comes from money left in trust by Mrs. Frances Ashton who died in 1721. Our building was opened as an elementary school in 1864.
We moved to our new school and site in September 2006
